My name is Carrie Grace and I currently reside in North Carolina. I run an online subscription box company called The Kindness Box, where the end goal is to add more joy and goodness back into the world. I also teach online workshops called the Creative Tribe Workshop to help women learn more business skills to have more profitable and life giving businesses. In my free time I’ve been known to pass out balloons to strangers, have Taylor Swift dance parties, and eat my body weight in ice cream.

How do you take care of yourself so that you’re physically and mentally prepared to be your best self for your loved ones?

I run 3 miles almost every single day. I tuck my phone away and take an ipod with me so that there is nothing urgent tugging my mind away from running. I put on some jams (normally Taylor Swift) and just let out some steam. I always feel so recharged after I come home and cool down. It gives me energy to keep going.

What’s your favorite beauty secret?

I’m all about under eye concealer, especially if I’m late and trying to run out the door. I do like to wear make-up daily, but sometimes it doesn’t get put on until I get into my office for the day. I always feel better if I have a little pop under my eyes so I don’t look too overly tired even if I really am!

What’s your favorite outfit for a quick, polished look?

I am a huge fan of a casual dress. I love to belt it with a bright colorful belt, a simple necklace, and flats. Mainly I love it because a casual dress can be easily dressed up or down, so I find it the quickest way to get a polished look and feel really comfortable and confident.

What’s your favorite quick-prep dinner for your family?

I’m a big fan of tacos because really who isn’t?! I’m someone who preps all the toppings the morning before into bowls so that I can just brown the meat and everything else is ready to go!

Tell us your favorite Instagram account to follow, and why?

Hands down, I love Bob Goff. He just proclaims love left and right. It reminds me to forget all the not so important things and just go out there and be crazy, wild love towards others.

What tradition or routine is important to you?

I try to do one act of kindness a day. It doesn’t have to be anything big or special. But I like going to bed knowing that I put a smile on one person’s face. Sometimes this just means sending an encouraging text or picking up the phone. Other days, it means that I send flowers to someone who is going through a tough time or needs someone to cheer them on.

What’s in your purse?

What isn’t in my purse is the real question?! My friends jokingly call me the “bag lady” because one purse is simply not enough to go out for the day. I cram it full of all the necessary items: chapstick, bandaids, pens, a mini notebook. Then other things like my phone, headphones, gum, and anything I may need to tackle my goals for the day.

Where do you find your inspiration?

I find inspiration all around me. I’m really inspired by bright happy things whether it’s a shirt I’m wearing or a brightly painted door of a house I try by. I love looking for things that add more joy or “sunshine” into my days. They inspire me to keep going and add more goodness into the world.

We know you’re a busy lady! How do you balance all of your work responsibilities along with your home and personal life? Any tips for our readers?

I’m like a major to-do list person. I sit down every Sunday and make a list for the week based on weekly goals and then I divide into days and then list any evening commitments or meetings that I need to attend. I feel like if it’s on paper you can see how much you need to get done in a day, week, month, etc. It makes it more manageable than letting it all float around in your head. This makes it easier to meal plan, spend time with the people I love the most, and get more done within a week span!

What’s your favorite app (or other tool!) for helping you do life?

One of my favorite apps is the notes app that comes with the iPhone. I realize that it’s so basic, but I find it really helpful just to jot a note down real quick when it pops into my mind. They have a search key so I can have 100s of notes and then search for what I need in a moments notice. I store a lot of future ideas and collaborations in there. That way they get out of my brain and are stored somewhere that I can keep coming back to.
