Best Sources for New Recipes

It’s so easy to get stuck in a monotonous rut of cooking the same recipes over and over and over again (and that’s okay!). We don’t believe in reinventing the wheel every single week, and it’s great to have go-to recipes that are easy to cook and loved by your family. Those are the meals that precious family memories are built upon, and they’ll be cherished by your family forever. But a few times a month, we like to introduce a few new recipes into the mix. Sometimes these meals get added to our recipe binders and become new family favorites. Other times, we toss it and order pizza instead (let’s face it– we’ve all been there!). Recently, we asked each of the girls on our team where their favorite source was for finding new recipes. Here’s what we said:

“My Mom. :) She loves Skinnytaste and Pioneer Woman and shares her favorites tried-and-true recipes with me so that I can recreate.” – Emily Ley, Creative Director

“I love all the recipes from the Tone It Up nutrition plan, and I’ve found so many yummy ones on Pinterest too!” –Whitney Hawkins, Art Director

“I love using Yummly to find great new recipes! My dear friend handles their social media and introduced me to the site, and now I’m hooked! Yummly helps you save time by allowing you to search for recipes while eliminating certain ingredients, so you’re not wasting time looking through recipes only to find you don’t have everything on hand to make them. You can set taste preferences to account for allergies or dietary restrictions and only see recipes that are relevant to you. Yummly also makes recommendations of recipes you might like, so new ideas are finding you! Basically it’s the best thing ever and makes meal planning SO much easier!” –Brittany Werth, Director of Sales and Operations

“I love Skinnytaste.com. The recipes are easy, healthy & delicious!” – Gina Hafley, Marketing Director

“I love Pinterest and food.com.” – Dusty Pyatt, Community Development Director

“I get a lot of recipes from my mom, but I also love The Healing Kitchen cookbook and Two Peas & Their Pod— their recipes are always a big hit when cooking for a large crowd!” – Hannah Myer, Director of Content and Brand Partnerships
