The Simplified Planner Story
In 2012, Emily Ley was managing a life she loved — and barely keeping up with it. New baby. Growing business. A mental load that never fully clocked out. She tried the apps, the binders, the color-coded systems. Nothing held. So she built the system she couldn't find anywhere.
That was the first Simplified Planner.
She didn't build it for a market. She built it for herself — and then realized she wasn't alone. Hundreds of thousands of women were carrying the same invisible load. Loving their lives. Overwhelmed by everything those lives held. Looking for something that would actually work.

From the beginning, every Simplified Planner has carried a small pineapple — the symbol of Southern hospitality, graciousness, and warmth. Because this was never just about getting organized. It was about freeing up the time and headspace to be present for the life you're living. The joy isn't at the finish line. It's in the doing.
Pen & Paper
There is something that happens when you write something down that no app has ever replicated. Seeing your week in your own handwriting — that's not old-fashioned. It's intentional. It's how we process, plan, and show up for the things that matter. If you've always suspected pen and paper works better for you, you're right.
I've loved paper, pens, and a brand new planner since I was a little girl perusing the school supply aisle every fall — searching for just the right combination to kick off the year right. That love never went away. It just grew up with me.
When my first son was born and my business was growing, I found myself overwhelmed by a life I loved. I had a to-do list full of things that mattered and no system that could hold all of it. I tried everything. Nothing stuck. So I did what I always do — I went back to paper. Armed with a sharpie and a binder, I built the planner I couldn't find anywhere else.
I built Simplified because I needed it. I kept building it because you did too.
I'm a mom of three, a 12x bestselling author, and the founder of a company I'm deeply proud of. But none of that is why I'm still here. I'm still here because this work matters and because a good system changes everything.
