You’ve made your gift lists and checked them twice—but do you need more ideas for the people in your life? Emily’s here to help! She’s sharing gifts to give to people who span across all kinds of ages and relationships: your significant other, your kids (or nieces and nephews!), your parents, your friends and coworkers. You’ll learn how to pair a few Simplified items to make an impactful gift, discover cool locally-made gifts from small makers around the county, and even favorite gift finds from companies doing good in the world. It’s hard not to get caught up in the glitz and bows and wrapping paper, but don’t forget: the holidays aren’t about gifts. They’re about spending time with the people you love, and showing them in many ways, “I see you, and I care.”

Thought-Provoking Quotes
“We know the holidays aren't just about gifts. That's not the point. The point of exchanging gifts is to add a little whimsy or indulgence to the people in your life. It's something that says, ‘Hey, I see you. I know you.’” – Emily Ley
“It's not about the quantity of gifts we give, either. It's the quality of time we spend nurturing and caring for each other.” – Emily Ley
A Blessing for Your Week
I hope you discover gifts all around you that can't be wrapped up in a bow. Like the gift of being known, that says I like you just the way you are. The gift of friendship that says I am Thelma to your Louise. The gift of laughter that says, thank goodness we don't take ourselves too seriously. And the gift of love that wraps you up and keeps you safe no matter what's going on outside your door.
Simplicity Tip of the Week
Start keeping a gift list in your Notes app.
Write down every single person you intend to give gifts to this year, and write your gift ideas under their names. Then, keep track of that gift: have you purchased it yet? Put a Shopping Bag emoji by it. Have you wrapped it? Change that emoji to a gift-wrapped present. Have you gifted it? Then put a green checkmark emoji by it. This way, it’s easy to tell at a glance how far you are into your gift list.
