Curb the Overwhelm in 3 Steps

Anyone else feeling a tad (LOT) overwhelmed with the holidays right now? I LOVE CHRISTMAS. It’s my favorite time of year. But right about now, I’m feeling a little bit like I can’t keep up. It’s that I-decided-to-write-a-book-and-host-my-whole-family-during-the-holidays-with-three-kids-under-five type of overwhelm. So many things pulling at my heart strings and only a little bit of me to go around.

So instead of stirring in my overwhelm, I’m doing something about it. If you’re feeling this way, join me. Three quick steps that will take you less than 15  minutes total:

  1. Unroll.me: Unsubscribe from a bazillion emails in about 3 minutes. You will not regret this decision. Just don’t unsubscribe from this one. ; )
  2. Make a list: Brain dump all the stuff in your head onto a piece of paper. Make your list and check it twice. Just get it out of your head.
  3. Pick up: Physical clutter is mental clutter. Grab a laundry basket and make a quick trip around your office or house. Viola. I promise, you’ll feel infinitely better.

Lastly, if you’re still feeling overwhelmed, quit something. Just say no. Wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday full of sweet, slow moments and rest.
